    Hargreaves close to comeback

    30 Sep 2009 - 11:45:34

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson expects Owen Hargreaves' lengthy injury nightmare to finally end in November.

Ferguson has revealed that the England midfielder is 10 days away from resuming full training.

Hargreaves, whose time at Old Trafford has been blighted by injury, has been out of action for over a year following surgery to try and ease tendinitis problems in both knees.

"We'll probably get him into training in 10 days and he should be back at the start of November," said Ferguson.

"We will take our time because the important thing is to get him playing to the right level.

"We are in dialogue with him all the time and the physio who was doing his rehabilitation over in America.

"It means we can jointly understand all the treatments and rehabilitation he has been doing."

Hargreaves has started only 25 games for United since an £18million move from Bayern Munich in July 2007.

"The difficult part will be to get him back into the football side," added Ferguson.

"We are certain his fitness will be good and his endurance work will have been done, but you don't have a player who has been out for over a year and suddenly throw him back into the fire right away."
