    Giggs setting sights on title

    13 Aug 2010 - 07:54:06

Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs says his team-mates will be striving to win the Premier League title back from Chelsea after they relinquished their crown last May.

Chelsea smashed Wigan Athletic 8-0 on the final day of the season to seal the prize while ending United's three-year domination in the process.

Giggs, 36, has also predicted Wayne Rooney to forget about England's disappointing World Cup campaign in the summer and fire on all cylinders once again this term.

"It was disappointing last year to lose out to Chelsea by one point, but we're looking forward to this season," he told Sky Sports.

"We want to try and win it back, we know it's going to be difficult, there's a lot of good teams about, a lot of good players, but we'll be up there in the mix and hopefully we can end the season with a title.

"Wayne was by far the best player in the Premiership last year. He's won all his awards, scored so many goals for us and he's a massive player for us.

"He's our main goal threat and these players that we've brought in and the other midfielders and wingers need to try and score more goals and help him a little bit more, so the massive weight isn't always on Wayne's shoulders.

"But last year he was brilliant and I'm sure he'll be brilliant again this season."
