Sir Alex Ferguson described Ryan Giggs as "one of the greatest players of all-time" after the Welsh winger netted Manchester United's winner in a 1-0 success against Tottenham on Saturday.
Giggs collected the Premiership Player of the Month award for August before kick-off and then took just nine minutes to find the goal which extended United's winning start to the season to four matches.
Ferguson told PremPlus: "He is showing his experience and maturity, and is using his experience.
"He has always had a lot of ability and he has been a fantastic player for this club, he will always go down now as one of the greatest players of all-time.
"He's using his experience and that's pleasing to me. We need players who can do that for us."
The 32-year-old has enjoyed a sparkling career with United, amassing eight Premier League, three FA Cup, two League Cup and a European Cup winner's medals.
