Foster: Leaving United is not a step back

Ben Foster believes his move to Birmingham can kickstart his international career. The 27-year-old has signed a three-year deal with Blues after leaving Manchester United in search of more first-team opportunities. Foster, who has won four England caps, spent five years on the books at Old Trafford but failed to oust Edwin van der Sar as number one and has been overlooked by Fabio Capello for this summer's World Cup. Foster told Blues TV: People say I have left Manchester United but I definitely don't see it as a step back. I am really excited and think it is a big step forward for me to be playing first-team football in the Premier League. I love playing football and training is good but for me something needs to be there at the end of the week. I look forward to playing first-team football and that's hopefully what I'll be getting here. As long as things go well for me, and hopefully they will, I'll be knocking on the England door again. What do you think? Have your say.
