Reports suggest Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is still interested in bringing Gremio teenager Douglas Costa to Old Trafford.
The talented 18-year-old, who is known as "the new Ronaldinho" in Brazil, has come to Ferguson's notice after a string of impressive displays for his team.
Gremio have severe financial problems and have placed a £21million price tag on Costa's head.
However, United have proposed a £7million deal, plus a series of success-related add-ons if the player lives up to his undoubted promise.
Manchester City have also been linked with Costa, who has already represented his country at under-20 level.
Ferguson has already bought Luis Antonio Valencia, Michael Owen and Gabriel Obertan this summer and is hoping to make Costa his fourth Brazilian acquisition following the purchase of Rafael and Fabio da Silva plus Rodrigo Possebon in the last two years.
