    Ferguson fears Brown exit

    08 Dec 2007 - 11:52:10

England defender Wes Brown could be set to leave Manchester United after rejecting a final contract offer from the Premier League champions.

The versatile 28-year-old's current deal runs out at the end of the season and talks over a new four-year contract have come to an unsuccessful conclusion.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson commented: "We have had several meetings with Wes' agent, but they have rejected our last offer.

"It is a good offer but it is our final one. That is the end of it now and we won't be going back.

"There is a possibility Wes could leave, which would be very disappointing."

Brown has been with United for the whole of his professional career to date, making well over 250 first-team appearances and winning 14 caps for England, despite a catalogue of injury problems.
