Ferguson backs strike duo
28 Oct 2007 - 13:25:29
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has tipped strike duo Carlos Tevez and Wayne Rooney to carry on scoring after they both found the net in the 4-1 win against hapless Middlesbrough.
After a slow start, United have suddenly found goals easy to come by, and Saturday's match was the fourth successive game in which they had scored four times.
An ebullient Ferguson said: "For weeks we were only scoring one, but now it's four. Some of our attacking play at times is very good.
"We're playing well, playing to potential. Nani, Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez are four quality players and put in a great attacking display today.
"Wayne and Carlos are doing fantastically well together. They'll mature and develop as experienced players.
"When they do that, hopefully we'll see the complete partnership."
