Ferguson backs Giggs to win award

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants to see veteran Ryan Giggs win the Professional Footballers' Association player of the year award.Giggs, 36, has never won the award but is on this year's shortlist, with the winner to be announced on Sunday. The winger could make his 800th appearance for United against Tottenham on Saturday and is closing in on an 11th Premier League winners medal. "I hope Ryan gets the PFA award," said Ferguson.
