    Fergie waits on duo

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson will make a late decision on whether to play Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic in Wednesday's Champions League semi-final second leg encounter with AC Milan.

United hold a 3-2 lead after the first leg at Old Trafford but Ferdinand has not played since aggravating a groin injury against Middlesbrough, while Vidic has been sidelined since breaking his collarbone against Blackburn Rovers on March 31.

"Vidic got the all-clear from the specialist on Monday and Rio has done some training over the last two or three days," confirmed Ferguson.

"With both of them we have a decision to make, frankly I'm nowhere near making it. I need to see them train.

"I'd be delighted to play them both, but I don't know if that's possible."

The Red Devils named a makeshift defence in last week's first leg with Wes Brown partnering Gabriel Heinze in the heart of the defence.

With Patrice Evra suspended, it seems likely that either Ferdinand or Vidic will play with Heinze reverting to a more regular left-back berth.
