Fergie to axe two Manchester United kids

Manchester United's Danny Welbeck and Phil Jones face the axe for the visit of Arsenal, despite the young duo impressing against Spurs. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is expected to recall the pacy Javier Hernandez and experienced Rio Ferdinand to his starting line-up for the visit of Arsene Wenger's wounded Gunners side next Sunday.

Welbeck and Jones were put forward to do the post-match interviews after earning praise from Sky pundit Gary Neville, but Ferguson looks set to hand them only bench roles when Hernandez and Ferdinand are deemed fit to start.

The Mexican striker, scorer of 20 goals in all competitions last season, has been given a break after suffering concussion during the pre-season tour of the USA.

But Ferguson always intended to recall him for the Arsenal clash and after giving him a 10-minute run out against Tottenham, admits it will be a tough call to drop Welbeck after his goal and assist earned United a vital three points last night.

"The horrible part for me now is with having Javier back, what do we do? It is going to be a big problem for me," said the United boss

."Danny is a big, rangy, long-legged boy who can gallop really quickly.

"Once he gets his legs going he is quick. He is a good footballer and has a great attitude when he loses the ball."He has always had ability but made slow progress because when he was growing he had a bit of a knee growth problem, so we knew we had to wait for him.

"We put him on loan to Sunderland last season and that is when he became a man. He has grown up. He is still only 20 years of age and the lad has a great future."
