Fergie tells North East strugglers he expects United second-string to beat Hull

Sir Alex Ferguson has assured relegation-threatened North East clubs that Manchester United will go to Hull looking for a win. The veteran boss revealed he almost rang his opposite numbers at Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Sunderland to assure them his side wouldn't roll over at the KC Stadium. All three clubs have distanced themselves from speculation they might be tempted to launch a legal fight against United should their team be so weak it fails to provide Hull with any kind of resistance.
