Fergie prepared to wait

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says he will not make any panic buys this January, with his side heading the Premiership at the start of 2007.
Ferguson has been linked with moves for Bayern Munich midfielder Owen Hargreaves and Southampton wing-back Gareth Bale, but seems unlikely to land either target just yet.
However, the veteran Scotsman is in no rush to spend and is prepared to bide his time for the right player.
He said: "We are working on one or two things, but don't hold your breath.
"Overall the question of signing new players in mid-season is not as straightforward as it might appear.
"We have had mixed fortunes taking new people on board halfway through the season. I much prefer a newcomer to have the benefit of pre-season training.
"And we are certainly not in a position where we need to panic buy."
