Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson refused to 'count his chickens' but admitted the come from behind victory over Everton had put his side back in the box seat to win the Premiership title.
United trailed 2-0 early in the second half but capitalsed on a goalkeeping error to reduce the arrears through John O'Shea before former Red Devil Phil Neville put through his own net for the equaliser.
United then stepped through the gears to pick up the points courtesy of further strikes from Wayne Rooney and substitute Chris Eagles as they took full advantage of Chelsea's draw with Bolton to move five points clear at the top of the table.
"I feel the momentum is back with us, particularly with Chelsea drawing," said Ferguson.
"We have a five-point lead and a superior goal difference which gives us a marvellous chance with three games left.
"But the most important thing is that my lads are having a real go. If you do that, and with the finishers we have in our side, we are always likely to score.
"This result is very significant. We are now away to Manchester City next Saturday lunchtime, having been to Milan for the semi-final (of the Champions League), and we know what that can do to players. It is very difficult.
"Then we have Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, so we cannot count our chickens yet.
"But I do think the marvellous attitude of our players and the spirit they show is going to keep helping us."
Meanwhile, Ferguson also admitted he was indebted to Bolton boss and close friend Sam Allardyce after the Trotters came from behind to hold Chelsea to a draw.
"I will be giving my old mate Big Sam a hug and a kiss when I see him, maybe two kisses," said a jubilant Ferguson.
