Fergie 'held' Ronaldo talks

Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly met with Cristiano Ronaldo for the first time since the winger expressed his desire to leave Manchester United for Real Madrid.
Ronaldo, 23, has been at the centre of a high-profile tug-of-war between United and their Spanish rivals throughout the summer.
The Portugal international has been linked with a world record £75million switch to Spain despite United insisting he is not for sale, while Ronaldo has fanned the speculation after hinting that a move to Madrid would be an attractive proposition.
The pair have not met up since the day after the Red Devils' victory in the Champions League Final in May as Ronaldo headed off shortly afterwards to take part in Euro 2008.
Reports claim Ferguson flew to Portugal on Monday to hold talks with the unsettled winger, who is currently recovering from ankle surgery.
Ronaldo will be out of action for three months but it is believed Ferguson made the trip to persuade the former Sp Lisbon starlet that his future lies at Old Trafford.
However, newspaper reports in Spain claim Ronaldo told the veteran Scot of his determination to join Real Madrid this summer.
