Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is confident that Liverpool will do their utmost against Chelsea on Sunday as the Red Devils look to their fierce foes to help their Premier League title challenge.
Carlo Ancelotti's outfit travel to Merseyside knowing a win would leave them with a final day clash against Wigan Athletic to wrap up the title.
But, despite United and Liverpool's heated relationship, Ferguson is sure they will not go easy on Chelsea at the weekend with his side sitting one point adrift of the Londoners in second place.
Speaking to reporters, he said: "I am confident they will do their maximum.
"Great clubs don't throw their history and traditions away for one game. They have been in 11 European finals. They have won 18 titles.
"That is a fantastic history. You don't throw that away. The fans know that too. Do you think the fans want to go home saying their players capitulated and they didn't try and thinking it wouldn't happen again?"
