Fergie happy with Keane return

Published: 24 Apr 2009 - 15:19:24

Sir Alex Ferguson has declared that it is 'nice' to see Roy Keane back in management after four months out of the game. Keane, who made 323 appearances under Ferguson during his playing career, quit as manager of Sunderland in December after falling out with the club's hierarchy. Controversy has already surrounded the Irishman since his return as manager of Ipswich Town was announced on Thursday, with Keane going on to launch an attack on his former team-mates in the management game. Manchester United manager Ferguson was keen to avoid passing comment on any of his former players, but did mention that Keane's return was a welcome sight for him. "He has made the point about wanting to get back into the game. It's always nice to see that," he said. "We will just have to wait to see what happens now."
