Fergie focuses on goals
24 Apr 2007 - 09:07:26
Sir Alex Ferguson wants to see his Manchester United side go on the attack at home to AC Milan in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final at Old Trafford.
Ferguson feels that his team need to score on home soil, but has warned the Red Devils faithful not to expect a repeat of the 7-1 demolition of AS Roma.
He said: "It's not going to be easy but the name of the game in these situations is to win and not lose a goal.
"That's our plan and, if we can achieve it, it would be a massive result for us.
"It's difficult to think we can get to the standard of the Roma game. That was a once-in-a-lifetime result.
"But, with the players we have, we should still expect a very good performance.
"The players want to reach a high level because of the quality of our opponents. The importance of the occasion demands the best performance to get us through.
"It is not going to be easy, but it is never going to be that in the semi-final of this competition."
