Fergie expects Becks to move
07 Feb 2009 - 10:42:00
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes David Beckham will eventually complete a permanent switch from LA Galaxy to AC Milan.
The 33-year-old has impressed during his loan stay with the Rossoneri but is set to return to Los Angeles on 9 March.
Beckham has said he would prefer to play in Serie A on a regular basis and his former boss at Old Trafford thinks that is what will come to pass.
Ferguson said: "It would be the most natural thing he could do, to get back into the real hotbed of football.
"This is a golden moment for the lad and I think he'll take it.
"If the two clubs can work out a deal then I think it will happen.
"If Milan give him the opportunity to stay it would be silly not to take it. He's had a spell at Galaxy and, fine, they've paid him an awful lot of money and they should have some loyalty from him.
"But being selfish, if I was given the chance to go to Milan, I'd take it. There's no chance he can do it in two years."
