Fergie confirms Brown blow
08 May 2009 - 10:31:53
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has suggested that Wes Brown's season is over after suffering a setback in his recovery from an ankle injury.
Brown, 29, has made just two substitute appearances since suffering the original injury back in October.
Brown was believed to be close to making his comeback, but is now unlikely to play again this season after suffering a setback in training.
United have just four Premier League games remaining, plus a Champions League Final to contest.
"Wes had a little setback during the week," revealed Ferguson.
"It isn't major but the fact the season is coming to an end makes it difficult for him.
"We have Gary (Neville) back fit so we are not too bad. But it is disappointing for Wes."
