    Ferdinand misses out again

    15 May 2009 - 10:27:21

Manchester United will again be without Rio Ferdinand for Saturday's potential title-clinching meeting with Arsenal.

The defender missed the midweek 2-1 victory over Wigan Athletic with a calf strain and United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will not rush him back ahead of the Champions League Final meeting with Barcelona on May 27.

The Red Devils need to just one point from their clash with the Gunners to be crowned champions.

"Rio is still struggling with a calf strain," revealed Ferguson.

"These niggles usually take a week to 10 days to clear up. Hopefully he'll be fit for Hull (next weekend) and the Champions League Final.

Ferdinand has picked up a series of niggling injuries this season and has started just 24 of United's 36 Premier League games this season.

"He's not training, he's having treatment. He's doing gym work and work on the bikes," added Ferguson.

"He's our only concern for tomorrow, but I'll freshen up from Wednesday - it was a gruelling game and a heavy pitch."
