Ferdinand eyes Spurs comeback
Published : 26 Aug 2009 15:25:34

RIO Ferdinand has penciled in a new early comeback date against early Premier League leaders Tottenham at White Hart Lane. United's 30-year-old defender has resigned himself to miss England's World Cup qualifier against Croatia at Wembley on September 9 but believes a trip to London three days later is a probably return for the Reds. Ferdinand hasn't played for United yet this league season having torn a thigh muscle in training before the opening match against Birmingham. But he reports, "It's improving, I'm a bit ahead of schedule. I've been training really hard the last few days. I'm not where I want to be obviously on the pitch, but in a couple of weeks I'll be back on the pitch playing again. "Hopefully the match after the internationals I will be fit so that's what I'll be aiming for. At the moment I'm concentrating on that." How much have United missed Ferdinand? Have your say.
