Evra fires warning to title rivals
Patrice Evra insists Manchester United are back in their rightful place at the summit of the Premier League and he has warned title rivals Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City that they are there to stay. Having struggled for form all season, Sir Alex Ferguson's side moved two points clear of champions Chelsea last week with the 7-1 rout of Blackburn. And even if their 29-game unbeaten run came to a shuddering halt with the 4-0 Carling Cup defeat to West Ham on Tuesday, Evra is convinced they can lead from the front from now until the end of the season. We are very happy to be top, but we are very focused for the future, said the Frenchman. The most difficult part is coming. We are going to Blackpool and must make sure we get three points to stay at the top of the table. That is Manchester United's place. We should be there and now I hope we will stay there until the end of the season. United face Blackpool on Saturday evening before a title double-header with Arsenal and Chelsea. Doubt Ferguson believes that if his side can come through those games relatively unscathed, they have a perfect chance to sprint clear over the hectic Christmas schedule. You always want to win those two games because I think they're really significant, he said. We've managed to claw ourselves into a position where we're two points ahead of Chelsea, so the game at Stamford Bridge and Arsenal's trip to Manchester will certainly be very important, there's no doubt about that. We saw that last season some big decisions didn't go our way in the two matches against Chelsea and they ended up costing us important points. Will United have any trouble with Blackpool? Have your say.
