Electric End to an Electric Transfer Window

Mohammed Diame was seen as Yaya Toure-esque player. And in many ways, he still is, given his strength and versatility. Abel Hernandez is also a brilliant striker, one of those who are ‘poacher’ types. And the trickery and dribbling of Hatem Ben Arfa was once very talked about before he almost stopped featuring for Newcastle. All these were acquired by Steve Bruce for Hull City in a very ‘Arsene Wenger’ style on the deadline day. He also managed to plunder Southampton a little more as he signed Gaston Ramirez on loan. And these news, probably aren't even slightly spicy compared to whatever is happening in rest of the footballing world.

Chelsea has not minded the failed medical Remy had a Liverpool and have signed him from QPR. And in a surprising turn of events, Danny Welbeck has moved to Arsenal for a reported significant amount of fee. But it was probably necessary, given the Giroud shaped-hole that was causing problems for the attack.

Southampton has brought in Toby Alderweireld and Mane to finally boost their squad for this season. Their defense was in shambles after Shaw and Lovren left, but thankfully Alderweireld will help sort things out for at least one season. Micah Richards and Chicharito have been granted their freedom, with both getting loan deals to Fiorentina and Real Madrid respectively. City has also let Negredo go to Valencia on loan. And lastly another major loan deal, mostly a sign of desperation, is Radamel Falcao coming to Manchester United. Assaidi rejoins Stoke City on a loan this year.

It has been a season of major transfers and surprisingly, many big players have made big money LOAN moves. Liverpool, Manchester United, Sunderland, West Ham and many other clubs have brought in atleast 8-9 players each, while others have made fewer yet significant signings. Premiere League is very new this year as we will see Fabregas in Chelsea, Sanchez with Arsenal, Falcao and Di Maria with United, Balotelli with Liverpool, Cambiasso with Leicester and Alex Song with West Ham, among other shocking transfers.

It will also be strange to see no Suarez, Chicharito, Torres, Negredo and many big name players of the Premier League leaving for higher(or lower) goals.

But that is what transfer window does to you, makes the footballing world (aka our world) utterly topsy turvy and offers exciting perspectives to think about. Game on!
