Veteran manager Sir Alex Ferguson has hailed Manchester United duo Paul Scholes and Darren Fletcher after both players were handed contract extensions.
Scholes will now remain at Old Trafford until the end of next season, while Scotland international Fletcher is contracted to the club until June 2012.
A delighted Ferguson told United's official website: "Paul's proof that if you look after yourself, you can carry on playing and be rewarded at a club of this size.
"He's 33 years old and he's been here since he was 14 and that tells you the desire and the ability he has to stay at the top.
"Darren's in the same vein as Ryan (Giggs), Paul (Scholes) and Wes (Brown) in that he's a long-serving member of the team. His consistency and level-headed approach are great attributes and we're all delighted that they've signed new contracts."
Scholes, who has made more than 400 league appearances for United, said: "It's great to sign a new deal.
"Last season was fantastic, but you always want to achieve more and with this team we're capable of doing just that."
Fletcher added: "When you play at such a great club with a great team you always want to be a part of that. The spirit here is amazing and I'm happy that I can play my part in achieving more success."
Fletcher made his United debut in March 2003 and has gone on to feature in more than 100 Premier League matches for the club, finding the net nine times.
