David Beckham's future at Real Madrid remains undecided after a spokesman for the former England captain insisted talks about a new contract are still ongoing.
Predrag Mijatovic said on Wednesday that the club would not be renewing Beckham's contract, but the player's spokesman now says Real's sporting director has been misquoted.
"I've spoken to Real Madrid about this and they say it is a confusion in the interview with Mijatovic," the spokesman said.
"There is an offer on the table from Real Madrid and we will be meeting to discuss this in the next two days."
Beckham's current deal expires in the summer and the former Manchester United star has been in contract negotiations with Real for several months.
The 31-year-old has struggled to hold down a first-term berth under coach Fabio Capello this season leading to speculation about his future.
Mijatovic told Sky Italia: "Beckham will leave us. We will not renew his contract.''
Beckham joined Real in July 2003 for £25million, but the former Manchester United midfielder has failed to win any silverware during his time in Spain.
