Cathcart blow

Published: 30 May 2009 - 12:24:00

Manchester United defender Craig Cathcart's chances of making his Northern Ireland debut have been wrecked by a knee injury he suffered while playing for Plymouth. The 20-year-old enjoyed a successful loan season at Home Park and was expected to make his international bow against Italy on June 6. But Cathcart, named Plymouth's young player of the year earlier this month, has been forced to withdraw from the squad after injuring his knee against Blackpool on April 4.
