Bullies booted me out of England, moans ex-Man United star Ronaldo

Good riddance: Ronaldo is glad to be waving goodbye to the rougher aspects of the English game Cristiano Ronaldo claims he was kicked out of the Premier League by players who couldn't cope with him on the pitch. The winger became the world's most expensive player when Real Madrid paid Manchester United £80million for his services last month. And the 24-year-old Portugal international is glad to see the back of certain sides in the English top flight. He said: 'There are some teams who know they can't compete with you on a football level, so they just kick you. 'It's frustrating and something needs to be done to protect the skilful players because one day someone will get seriously hurt. I think more could be done to protect us but that is up to the referees to decide.' The saga surrounding Rondalo's departure had rumbled on for over a year but this doesn't seem to have affected his relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson. Ronaldo played under the Old Trafford manager for six seasons and added: 'I will miss the boss. Sir Alex has taught me so much on and off the field, I could not have asked for a better mentor. 'He made me aware that I would be one of the best players in the world, he gave me that belief. He gave me the No 7 shirt because he believed I could do it justice. 'I  can never repay the confidence he has shown in me over the years.' Despite leaving United to earn £240,000 a week after tax at the Bernabeu, Ronaldo miss the North West. 'I was a boy when I arrived at Manchester and now I'm leaving a man. This club and its fans will always have a place in my heart,' he told Shortlist. 'It was nice to leave after winning another title, but it would have been perfect to win another European Cup. That defeat really hurt so when people say you don't show loyalty, I just don't listen.'
