Brown never wants to leave
17 May 2007 - 15:40:18
Manchester United defender Wes Brown is happy to commit himself to the club for the rest of his career even though he is no longer a regular starter.
The 27-year-old has spent the last nine seasons at Old Trafford and would be content to follow in the footsteps of other one-club United men like Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.
"I've been at Manchester United since I was a kid and I always want to be here," he told the Manchester Evening News.
"A lot of people have asked me about my future but that was just because I wasn't playing for a certain stage of the season.
"If you're not getting selected, it's normal for people to start talking. But I just get on with it. I'm playing now and everything is fine.
"When you look at this last week, winning the title and now the Cup Final, it shows why you want to be at a club like this."
Brown has made 162 Premiership appearances for United since making his first-team debut nine years ago.
