Boost for Fabio Capello as Wayne Rooney says 'count on me for England'

Wayne Rooney handed Fabio Capello a boost last night by declaringhimself fit for England's European Championship qualifier againstMontenegro on Tuesday week. Rooney missed Manchester United's 0-0 draw at Sunderland yesterdaywith an ankle injury but insisted: 'I'll be fit, I'll be 100 per cent.' Out of form: Wayne Rooney hoping to get back to goalscoring form That's great news for Capello, who tomorrow names his squad for the Group G qualifier against Montenegro at Wembley, and is desperate to have Rooney available with Jermain Defoe and Bobby Zamora still sidelined. Rooney has only scored once for United this season - a penalty - but did score for England in last month's 3-1 win against Switzerland. Although he concedes that his much-publicised personal troubles have affected his form, he is working harder than ever to overcome his most spectacular dip in form. 'Obviously if you don't play well you think ''how am I going to put this right'',' he said. 'I've been working hard in training - staying behind and practising on my game all the time. One goal can change everything. I am sure it will be all right. 'I've scored from open play for England but not for United. The only goal I've scored for United was the penalty against Rob Green, who I'd been practising penalties against all summer at the World Cup. I don't think I've been getting in the box enough.' Rooney has also had to deal with lurid claims over cheating on wife Coleen. He said: 'I'm only a human being. I hurt as well. It has been a hard time for me but I know I just have to get back to working hard and playing football the way I can do. 'I need to get through this and get back to playing again. There are people around who want to help but it's down to me.' Rooney denied bring under mental strain at the World Cup, adding: 'I was fine. I was in the right state of mind, nothing physically wrong with me.'  Sunderland 0 Manchester United 0: Food for thought for Sir Alex FergusonKenny Dalglish: Capello needs to have a captain who is fit to play Rooney will be fit for England to face Montenegro but doubt for Sunderland
