Bluebirds move for Smith

Cardiff City have revealed they have tabled a bid to bring Manchester United striker Alan Smith to Ninian Park on loan.
The 26-year-old has been feeling his way back into first-team action after breaking his ankle in a clash with Liverpool back in February.
Smith has made four appearances for United this season after making a quicker than expected return from the horrific injury and the Bluebirds are hoping to offer the former Leeds United striker regular first-team action.
The move is believed to have been brokered by Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale, who was in charge of Leeds during Smith's spell at Elland Road.
The Championship-topping Bluebirds need cover as first-choice striker Steve Thompson will be sidelined until December after suffering an Achilles injury.
