Berbatov denies not caring

Manchester United ace Dimitar Berbatov has rejected suggestions that he does not care enough about winning, ahead of his side's Champions League final with Barcelona.

The 28-year-old Bulgaria international has scored 14 goals in 42 appearances for the Red Devils since joining from Tottenham Hotspur at the start of the season.

However, he has yet to win over a number of pundits who feel that he does not give his all in every game.

Berbatov told the Manchester Evening News: "I know people sometimes think I don't care. Trust me. I do.

"I get frustrated and if I don't play well I am very disappointed.

"People should not just look at my face and make an assessment about me depending on what it shows.

"I know what I have done and I know I can do a lot more. I can improve because I didn't produce 100 per cent in some of the games I have played since I came to the club."

Meanwhile, UEFA president Michel Platini is looking forward to a classic encounter in Rome on Wednesday evening, saying: "It's useless to make any predictions.

"Football is unpredictable and Barcelona and Manchester United are two very strong teams. Without a doubt it's going to be a beautiful game."
