Manchester United right-back Phil Bardsley has joined SPL giants Rangers on loan

The 21-year-old follows Red Devils team-mate Lee Martin in heading to Ibrox, with the length of the loan not yet confirmed.

Bardsley has made 17 appearances for United to date and finished last season out on loan with Championship outfit Burnley.

Gers boss Paul Le Guen told the Daily Record: "Alex Ferguson has already been helpful in letting us have Lee Martin and I am thankful we now have Phil as well.

"I went to Old Trafford last year when Manchester United played Benfica when Phil was in the team and he played very well.

"I am sure he will be a good addition to our squad this season."
