Anderson on the prowl for United

ANDERSON'S strike can fire the Brazilian into the top bracket of world midfielders. That's the belief in the United camp after the 22-year-old finally broke his senior goal duck after two years, one month and 78 appearances for the Reds. His only previous first-team goals have come in penalty shoot-outs. Anderson warmed up for his breakthrough strike with a goal in the reserves during the international break when he volunteered for duty with Ole Solskjaer's young side. Having dropped out of the Brazil set-up and only been included in Sir Alex Ferguson's XI in the defeat at Burnley the South American was keen to storm back. United celebration "The lads have been seeing it coming from Ando," says Rio Ferdinand. "During the international break he as had time to train and he has been showing glimpses of what he can really do. "He scored a good goal in the reserves so I think he has got the knack back now with his scoring. Hopefully he can go on a good run now and score some goals because if he does that he can be a top-class player." Ryan Giggs added: "Ando has had a bit of stick because of not scoring and his celebration! "We are all pleased because his performances have been really good since he came to the club and he is a top, top player. He knows that he has to add goals it his game. Hopefully he will score a lot more." United boss Fergie saluted the goal that put the Reds ahead at White Hart Lane. "He's capable of that. He's just got to be given the encouragement and confidence to shoot," he said. "He's got a great strike of the ball. It was one touch and then the net, a great finish." Do you think Anderson will hit top form now? Have your say.
