Anderson in line for Wembley

Published: 27 Feb 2009 - 09:39:01

Anderson looks set feature in the Carling Cup final after coming through his latest test. The Brazilian international has been sidelined for over a month with an ankle injury. He returned to training earlier this week and he made a successful return to action on Thursday when he played for United's second-string. He came through 45 minutes unscathed and he looks set to be involved at Wembley on Sunday - although whether he starts or not remains to be seen. Anderson has been an ever present in United's run through the Carling Cup - where Sir Alex Ferguson has used mostly his fringe and younger players. Fabio and Zoran Tosic also played on Thursday, and they too will be hoping to play against Tottenham on Sunday.
