Agent: Tevez prefers England
15 May 2009 - 07:47:51
Striker Carlos Tevez wants to stay in the Premier League should he leave Manchester United at the end of the season, according to his advisor Kia Joorabchian.
Tevez is coming towards the end of a two-year loan contract and his future has been the subject of intense speculation with the Old Trafford club yet to - according to Joorabchian - make a formal offer to retain him.
The Argentina striker has been linked with moves to Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid in recent days, but Joorabchian claims his client is most likely to stay in England should he leave United.
"His preference is to stay in England. He really wants to stay in England for the next five years," he said.
Meanwhile, Joorabchian claims his relationship with United remains sound despite cracks emerging in their relationship this week.
The Iran-born businessman rejected a claim from Sir Alex Ferguson that the Red Devils, via chief executive David Gill, had tabled an offer this week to keep the 25-year-old frontman on a permanent basis.
"Sir Alex had a conversation with Carlos where he said that he liked him a lot, but there was no formal offer and United have clarified that," he told talkSPORT.
"There have been cordial discussions but there haven't been any offers as such."
