Published: 20 Apr 2009 - 21:30:00

Derby have parted company with three members of its academy set-up as part of plans to change the way the club develops young players. Academy manager Phil Cannon, his assistant Brian Borrows and technical manager David Lowe, who famously took charge of the Rams' Carling Cup semi-final first-leg victory over Manchester United at Pride Park earlier this year, have left the Championship club. A statement issued by Derby read: "Phil, Brian and David leave with our best wishes for the future and with our thanks for the hard work they done for Derby County."It is our wish to take the academy in a new direction as we look to move the club forward and that will include new leadership at its helm. "The academy is an important part of our club's future and we intend to focus our energies on finding and developing the very best talent in Derbyshire and across the East Midlands."Derby County Football Club will make a further announcement regarding the future structure of the academy in due course."
