'Fabregas Going Nowhere!' - Barca Warn Arsenal And United
Barcelona maintain that there is no truth to the rumours linking Cesc Fabregas to an exit from the Spanish giants.
News has been emanating from the Nou Camp suggesting that the midfielder could be on his way out of Barcelona this summer, after it was touted that incoming manager Luis Enrique would not have a place for him in the first team and would be looking to offload him. Enrique needs to do some serious defensive reinforcements to the squad ahead of next season, and the sale of Fabregas would bring in a heap of cash which can be directly reinvested in new signings.
That gave birth to serious speculation, linking him with a return to former club Arsenal, who have a first refusal right on the Spaniard. There were even rumors about Manchester United's interest in him; however these look set to die out now as Barcelona's president Josep Maria Bartomeu has come out in the open and played down talks about Fabregas' departure, while claiming that they intend to retain his services.
"We don’t want to sell players," Metro reported him as saying.
"Barca do not want to sell Fabregas or any other players that may appear to be on the market."
With the Catalans' stance seeming firm over the 27-year old, will this put an end to all speculation surrounding his future?
