Manchester City chairman John Wardle has revealed that Shaun Wright-Phillips wants to stay at Eastlands despite speculation over his future.
The England star, who is sidelined for the rest of the season through injury, has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise mediocre campaign.
His consistently impressive performances have led to speculation over his future, with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea linked with summer moves for the 23-year-old.
However City, who rejected a bid from Tottenham for the player last summer, remain adamant that he will still be at the club next season and that the player himself is happy to stay.
"He told me he just wishes that the transfer talk would go away," said Wardle.
"He says he's fed up with people asking him if he's going to stay or go. Shaun said he is a Manchester City player and he is happy to stay here.
"We aren't looking to sell Shaun Wright-Phillips at this stage. I'm happy he's here and let's hope that doesn't change."
