Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy has been brought into the Wales squad for next week's World Cup qualifiers despite being sidelined with injury.
The former West Ham man hasn't played for City since suffering a knee injury again the Hammers at the start of March and had not been expected to play for another two weeks.
His inclusion is likely to frustrate those at the City of Manchester Stadium who would rather he remained with the club's medical staff to fully recover from his injury.
Yet the 29-year-old is thought to be the one pushing for a role with Wales and manager Mark Hughes, a former Wales international stirker himself, decided not to stand in his way.
Bellamy's former West Ham team-mate James Collins is also included despite injury as is young City striker Ched Evans.
