Top 10 European football kits for the 2014/15 season
A new season means a new strip with fans getting to see the colours their favourite club will sport. Major kit makers such as Nike and Adidas have faced increasing competition from other brands such as American makers Warrior; Liverpool’s current kit provider.
Below are the top ten new kits that have currently been unveiled…
#10 – VFL WOLFSBURG AWAY KIT – KAPPA – BUNDESLIGA
Wolfsburg make the switch from Adidas to Kappa and their new away kit follows the same white template as last season. Sponsored by Volkswagen, the kit has diagonal stripes and green accents. The shorts are green and the socks are white leaving the German side with a quality away kit.
#9 – MANCHESTER CITY HOME KIT – NIKE – PREMIER LEAGUE
The new Manchester City home kit features a dark navy collar with the sleeve cuffs being the same colour. The Nike swoosh and Etihad Airways sponsor are also navy and features a reversible collar. The Premier League champions will also sport sky blue shorts and socks.
#8 – ZENIT ST. PETERSBURG AWAY KIT – NIKE – RUSSIAN LEAGUE
Russian side Zenit St Petersburg will sport a mainly white away jersey featuring a navy and light sash across the front. A simplistic style makes a wonderful shirt with the remainder of the kit being all white.
#7 – AJAX AWAY KIT – ADIDAS – EREDIVISIE
The Ajax away kit, made by Adidas, features a new kit design by the German brand. The shirt is divided into dark blue and navy blue with a triangle design on the front. The colour of the famous three stripes matches the colour of the club’s new sponsor.
#6 – JUVENTUS AWAY KIT – NIKE – SERIE A
Juventus’ new 2014/15 away shirt is a mainly blue design. It features yellow accents on the collar and sleeves as well as the Nike swoosh whilst the Jeep logo remains white. The main feature of the kit is the eye-catching star on the front with many different sized stars positioned around the Juventus crest.
#5 – INTER MILAN HOME KIT – NIKE – SERIE A
The 2014/15 Inter Milan home kit changes from their usual black/blue strip design as the new strip features a mainly black design with blue pinstripes. The kit features a classic polo kit collar with the Nike swoosh and sponsor Pirelli in white.
#4 – BAYERN MUNICH HOME KIT – ADIDAS – BUNDESLIGA
Pep Guardiola side will defend their Bundesliga crown wearing a new home kit featuring three vertical blue stripes; similar to the 1995/96 kit where they won the UEFA Cup. The Bayern Munich badge is alongside the Adidas logo and Telekom sponsor with the famous three stripes on the sleeves being white. The shorts are red whilst the socks are a white with blue and red applications.
#3 – REAL MADRID AWAY KIT – ADIDAS – LIGA BBVA
The new Real Madrid away kit features breaks with all traditional colours with Adidas opting for an all pink strip with white accents. Similar to the home kit, the shirt features a star element on the front.
#2 – MONACO HOME KIT – NIKE – LIGUE 1
Monaco will attempt to provide competition to Paris Saint Germain in next season’s Ligue 1 wearing their new red and white kit provided by Nike. They signed a partnership with Nike until 2019 and the kit is yet to feature a sponsor logo. The simplistic design is inspired by the kit worn by the club in the 1960s.
#1 – AS ROMA HOME KIT – NIKE – SERIE A
The new AS Roma Home kit, made by Nike is similar to the Manchester City home shirt. The classic looks features a dark red design with orange sleeve cuffs and Nike swoosh. The dark red is also featured on a classical collar. With white shorts and red socks, the Roma kit is a joy to behold.
