Toon Game Could Get Toure To Sign New City Deal

That game at Newcastle last Saturday could see Kolo Toure on the verge of signing a new contract at the club.

There was talk of him leaving Manchester City in the summer transfer window, but after he has filled in for the injured Vincent Kompany he seems to have found a new love for the club.

Toure's future seemed bleak when he was left out of City's Champions League squad after a move to Turkish side Bursaspor was on the cards, but he rejected the move and he hopes to extend his stay at the club.

He was outstanding at St James' Park and Newcastle boss Alan Pardew said the player was a "man mountain" and arguably the best player he had seen at Newcastle all season.

Kolo Toure:"I like it in England.

"I have been here for all of my career and it's great to play in England. I really enjoy it.

"That is why I brought my brother [Yaya] here.

"There are challenges coming and there are changes in life, and I will deal with that if it happened. I wish to stay, but you never know.

"The club has been here for me.

"Even through my tough time, everyone was behind me - the people and the staff at the club, everybody, the chairman, everybody.

"To have this support is great and that is why it would be much more difficult to leave."
