Tired Tevez threatens Manchester City walkout after South Africa World Cup

16 Nov 2009 - 10:21:40

Carlos Tevez has considered the prospect of retiring from footballif Argentina win next summer's World Cup in South Africa, conceding heis 'saturated' by so much football.
The 25-year-old Manchester City striker would like to spend moretime with his family and may return to Argentina with Boca Juniors orturn his back on the game all together.
Homeward bound: Tevez could be on his way to Argentina
What the back pages say: Robinho club versus country row simmers, Everton reject £14m Chelsea bid for Jack Rodwell, Manchester United plan £20m raid for Carlton Cole and beleaguered Hull are up for saleDavid Beckham helps LA Galaxy book place in MLS Cup final after 2-0 win over Houston DynamoMANCHESTER CITY FC: All the latest news from across the web: He revealed in an interview with Argentinian newspaper Ole: 'It crosses my mind to hang up my boots if we win the World Cup, although I have a contract until 2014 (with Manchester City).
'It's complicated, there's my family, the desire to return to Boca Juniors, but I think about it.'
Tevez moved to City from neighbours Manchester United last summer after winning two Barclays Premier League titles and the Champions League at Old Trafford.
He added: 'I'm a little tired of so much football, so much football...I want to enjoy my family a bit.
'I'm very keen to stop and get a bit of calm. I've already won a lot. Living for football has saturated me a lot.'
National service: Carlos Tevez is finding it all too much
Tevez is also not concerned by his limited opportunities under Argentina coach Diego Maradona.
'I had my chances and I couldn't perform at 100%,' he added. 'When the team needs goals, you need to score them.
'I couldn't do it and if you don't do it, someone else will come in and get their chance.
'That's how the national team is and it seems fine to me because there are no crowns for anyone.'
Tevez, speaking ahead of the friendly with Spain in Madrid, is determined to take his chance to prove his ability to Maradona at the next opportunity and vowed to be at his very best next June in South Africa.
'Nobody likes to be a substitute,' he added. '(But) it doesn't worry me to sit on the bench and I will support my team-mates.
'I'm not going to make it easy for them (the other strikers).   "I'm not going to sit with my arms folded and watch the World Cup pass by.
'No, I want to play, I want to enjoy it, I want to be there and I'm going to try 10 times harder than before.
'I'm determined to turn this situation around. At the World Cup they are going to see the best Carlitos Tevez.'
