Tevez eyes City title tilt

Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez has set his sights on winning the Premier League title next season. The big-money signing has impressed in his first year at Eastlands, hitting the net 29 times in all competitions for Roberto Mancini's side. But despite the Argentine's efforts, City failed to qualify for the Champions League after a defeat to Tottenham on Wednesday night. Now Tevez says that his team need to aim higher than a mere top-four finish next time around. "I have really enjoyed my first season at the club but this is only the beginning," he told the Daily Star Sunday. "My dream is to help this club become one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the world. "We have the resources and belief that we can achieve our dreams. "What we have to do next is forget about finishing in the top four. That is now a thing of the past. "We now need to think about winning the Premier League. "That is the right thing for this club and should be our next aim. "We need to go all-out for the title and that's the mindset we need to have from next season." Tevez also paid tribute to the club's fans for embracing him after his switch from arch-rivals Manchester United. He added: "I felt so welcome here from day one. I'm genuinely touched and I feel extremely happy. "It's a great source of pride and motivation when I see so many supporters, especially young children, with my name on their back. "I hope to score many goals both for City and Argentina - particularly during the World Cup."
