Manchester City have beaten off interest from other Premier League clubs to sign teenager Alex Henshall from Swindon Town.
The England Under-16 international winger will join the academy system at City this summer after breaking into the first team at the League One club last season.
Henshall was reported to be interesting Liverpool before deciding to join the Eastlands club.
"We are delighted to welcome Alex to the academy," City's head of academy Mark Allen told the club's official website.
"He will provide excellent balance on the left-hand side of the field and is an exciting addition to our existing group of players.
"We are looking forward to helping him develop even further following on from the good start to his career he had at Swindon Town."
