Sven won't throw in towel

Manchester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson still believes his side is good enough to clinch a place in Europe even after Saturday's disappointing goalless draw with Wigan Athletic at Eastlands.
The stalemate leaves City eighth in the table and Eriksson's side have now won only one of their last six matches - ironically at title chasing local rivals Manchester United.
The Swede remains in an upbeat frame of mind though, telling City's official website: "We have to keep working and not think that the season is over.
"We worked hard to get the goal and, like we did against Everton, we got better as the game went on.
"Joe Hart saved us at the end as well but it is very difficult to break down these kinds of teams. Wigan are hard-working, physically strong and their two strikers created problems for us.
"But it's up to us, we must keep working and it's forbidden to throw the towel in now. Europe is still there and waiting for us if we take the chance.
"Wigan did not lose the ball much, they put eight or nine men behind the ball and, like a lot of football today, that makes it very difficult.
"The important thing is that we don't give up, go to Reading with the same spirit and attitude, and hopefully get the goal that we deserve."
