Manchester City have continued their summer of recruitment by wrapping up the signing of Fiorentina's Bulgarian striker Valeri Bojinov for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old has agreed a four-year contract with the Citizens and just needs to secure a work permit to seal his move to England.
Bojinov started his career in Italy with Lecce, making his Serie A debut at the tender age of 15, becoming the youngest-ever overseas player to feature in the Italian top-flight.
In January 2005 he moved to Florence and, although he showed up well for the Viola, he was loaned out to Juventus for the whole of last season, helping the Turin giants regain their Serie A status at the first attempt.
He has also scored twice in 12 appearances for his country, featuring alongside his new City team-mate, Martin Petrov.
Bojinov becomes City's eight summer recruit, following defenders Vedran Corluka and Javier Garrido, midfielders Elano, Gelson Fernandes and Geovanni and forwards Rolando Bianchi and Petrov into Eastlands.
