Sven admits fortunate win

Sven-Goran Eriksson conceded Manchester City had been fortunate to secure a 2-1 victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
The Citizens took the lead through a 79th minute penalty after Daniel Sturridge had been clipped by Nyron Nosworthy, before Darius Vassell's late winner secured all three points for the visitors.
But afterwards Eriksson admitted the penalty awarded by referee Mike Riley might have been a touch fortunate.
"Maybe the penalty was harsh, but Rob Styles gave a harsh one against us at Birmingham (last month)," said the Swede. There was definitely contact though.
"But if you talk about luck, we still have to gain a lot this season.
"Our winning goal was not one of the greatest strikes I have seen in my life, but it went in and that's good.
"I hope we can keep this spirit up until the end of the season so we can at least still dream about playing in Europe next season. We still have a chance, although it will be difficult.
"It was always going to be a battle and a difficult game but the spirit seems to be back and let's hope it stays until the end of the season."
