Manchester City's promising young goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has put pen to paper on a new four-year contract with the Citizens.
The 20-year-old Dane has impressed during City's excellent start to the season, having stepped in due to an injury to regular number one Andreas Isaksson.
Schmeichel told the club's official website: "It's great to have everything put to bed now so I can concentrate on my football, I'm delighted.
"Everything's gone well this season, so to get this sorted out as well is really pleasing."
Citizens boss Sven-Goran Eriksson added: "Kasper has been very impressive since I came to City and I'm delighted that he has committed his future to the club."
Schmeichel has played seven times for City this season, with his previous senior appearances having come while on loan at Darlington, Bury and Falkirk.
