    Samaras eyes Bhoys switch

    29 Jan 2008 - 11:13:57

Manchester City striker Georgios Samaras is keen to complete a switch to Celtic before the end of the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old Greece international has been a bit-part player under Sven-Goran Eriksson this season, making only two Premier League appearances - in the 6-0 defeat at Chelsea and last month's 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic.

"I would be happy to go to Scotland. I would not have any problem with leaving the Premier League - playing football is the main thing for me," Samaras told the Daily Record.

"It would also be very interesting to play European football with Celtic.

"At this moment I need to find somewhere to play football.

"I have the European Championship this summer and I need to play games before then."

Samaras moved from Heerenveen to City for £6million but has managed to find the net only 12 times in his two years with the club.

He has been linked with moves to Rangers, Bolton, Middlesbrough, and Espanyol already this month.
