Ronaldo still believes in City
19 Sep 2008 - 10:43:43
Brazil striker Ronaldo believes a move to Manchester City remains 'a big possibility' despite the club's recent claims to the contrary.
The 31-year-old former Real Madrid and AC Milan striker is currently without a club following a serious knee-ligament injury suffered last season which threatened his career.
Earlier in the month, Ronaldo claimed he had been approached by representatives of the Premier League club, whose coffers have recently been boosted by a takeover by the Abu Dhabi-based United Group.
City admitted speaking to the player but swiftly denied reports that they were looking to sign Ronaldo.
However, the striker claims the switch to Eastlands where he would team up with compatriots Robinho, Jo and Elano could still be on the cards.
"Yes, it is a big possibility," he told L'Equipe.
"Manchester City are in the process of putting in place an unbelievable project, with some great players.
"A project which is long term but which could get immediate results because City want to topple the existing order of world football.
"We are in the process of talking to them. So we will see."
